The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) collected two cores from each of three large Porites colonies at South Muiron Island, Tantabiddi Lagoon and Bundegi Reef in Exmouth Gulf in November 1994. The cores were collected to reconstruct the climate and environmental history of the region from the annual density bands, luminescent bands and geochemical tracers contained withing the coral skeleton.
