VPRS 15561 Examination Papers (Matriculation, Leaving, Intermediate and Higher School Certificate)

This series consists of examination papers for Matriculation (1966-1969), Leaving and Intermediate (1964, 1996-1972) and Higher School Certificate subjects (1971-1978). It consists solely of the examination questions and does not include either completed scripts, answers or results.

All of the items in this series appear to have been originally maintained in the library of the Victorian Institute of Secondary Education. It appears these records were transferred to the Education Department Library at a later date where the majority of these were bound. There are gaps evident within this series, especially for 1964. There are also no papers for the year 1965 and 1975.

Until the commencement of Higher School Certificate examinations, these papers were printed in booklets which covered the examinations for a number of linked subjects. An alphabetical code was used to identify these groupings and these were incorporated onto the spines of the volumes. Separate papers were produced for each individual Higher School Certificate subject.
