This record series comprises the minutes of meetings of the Elsternwick Park Committee of Management.

There are either significant gaps in time between meetings on occasions or some minutes are no longer extant. Several, but not all, committee members were local councillors. The minutes of the final meeting refer to advice from the Department of Crown Lands and Survey (VA 538) of its preparedness to accept the resignation of the present members of the Committee of Management and subsequently appoint the Council of the City of Brighton as the Committee of Management in line with a request submitted by both the current Committee of Management and the Council.

The Council members resigned effective 30 September 1978 on the understanding that the Governor-in-Council be requested to then appoint the Council of the City of Brighton as the Committee of Management.
