VPRS 12951 Complaint Files

Full description

This series constitutes all the complaint files created by the Lay Observer. Basically, members of the public can complain to the Lay Observer if they feel their complaint against a particular barrister or solicitor has not been properly investigated by the professional body (such the law Institute) concerned.

The files contain correspondence regarding the particular complaint, from the complainant, the barrister or solicitor concerned, the Lay Observer and the relevant professional body. Files may also contain file notes made by the lay Observer regarding the relevant complaint.

On some files (but not all) there is also a summary sheet attached to the inside of the front cover. This may include information such as the date of the file commenced / file number, name of the complainant, nature of complaint, outcome of complaint and any additional comments by the lay Observer.
