These studies covered all operational and infrastructure aspects of the Corporation.- Adequate assessment of all investment proposals including those related to network or service rationalisation. All investment evaluation reports and requests for capital monies were assessed by the Corporate Investment Panel (CIP) which comprised: Chief Executive Officer, Director, Planning and Marketing, Managing Director, V/Line Freight, a representative of the Department of Transport and the company Secretary.- The preparation of an appraised and approved project listing each year for incorporation in the annual budget and undertook post construction audits. This series is a collection of records created/collected by various Groups within the Corporate Development Division of the Public Transport Corporation (PTC) for the period 1989 to 1997. The series also contains records of the previous branches of the Victorian Railways VA 2876, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, VA 1044 and the State Transport Authority VA 1038.

The Corporate Development Division was responsible for:
