Full description
The series provides summary information about the progress of apprentices during their school training. The Apprentice History Card Records contain the personal details of the apprentice - such as their name, date of birth, and the name and address of the parent or guardian; details of the employer, apprenticeship and the educational institution attended; details of the former educational institution that the apprentice attended; the apprentices progress - such as results for particular subjects, recorded attendance; and behavioural evaluations. A registration number was recorded, and if an apprenticeship is completed, a Certificate of proficiency number was also recorded. In many cases, these cards are also accompanied by a Notice That Apprentice is to Attend School, which contains the same personal information, as well as summary information of the Apprentices school attendance.
Most records consist of one card, but occasionally a single record may consist to two cards.
VPRS 4711 Apprentice History Cards (Microfilm Copy of VPRS 11538) contains microfilm copies of VPRS 11538 Apprentice History Cards. However, when the series was filmed only one side of each card was filmed instead of both sides (information was recorded on both sides of the cards). See also VPRS 11548 Apprenticeship Termination History Files.
