The Teachers Registration Council was created in accordance with the Education Act 1958 (No.6240), Section 52, A - P, and comprised the whole membership of the three Divisional Registration Boards.
The functions of the Council were to co-ordinate the activities of the three Divisional Registration Boards, to determine the equivalent level of interstate and overseas qualifications relative to those available in Victoria, to investigate matters referred to it by any of the Divisional Registration Boards, and to hear and determine appeals against refusal or failure to grant registration or against any deregistration. The contents of the minutes reflect these functions.
Contents include minutes of the previous meeting received and confirmed, business arising from the minutes of the previous meeting, correspondence received by the Council, reports received by the Council, appeals for Council to consider, financial/budgetary matters, and general business.
