Teacher Registration Council

Full description

The Teachers Registration Council was created in accordance with the Education Act 1958 (No.6240), Section 52, A - P, and comprised the whole membership of the three Divisional Registration Boards (Primary, Secondary and Technical).

The functions of the Council were to co-ordinate the activities of the three Divisional Registration Boards, to determine the equivalent level of interstate and overseas qualifications relative to those available in Victoria, to investigate matters referred to it by any of the Divisional Registration Boards, and to hear and determine appeals against refusal or failure to grant registration or against any deregistration.

Amalgamated with VA 1634 Primary Teachers' Registration Board, VA 1636, Technical Teachers' Registration Board and VA 1635 Secondary Teachers' Registration Board in 1987 to form Teachers' Registration Board VA 4087.
