The Victorian Electoral Commission is the administrative agency through which the legislative functions of the Electoral Commissioner are carried out. The Electoral Commissioner is appointed by the Governor-in Council under the Constitution Amendment Act 1958.The main function of the Commission is the conduct of elections for the Victorian Parliament. It is also responsible for supplying jury lists for use by the Courts and for preparing and supplying voters lists for Council elections. The Commission also conducts a number of non-Parliamentary elections on a fee-for-service basis.
