A major study of vegetation and flora of New England National Parks undertaken for the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service.

In this project, led by Dr Peter J. Clarke and based at Botany, UNE, extensive use was made of the N.C.W. Beadle Herbarium during the planning, action and writing-up phases.. Many new collections made across NENP were made and incorporated into Herbarium NE. The main report from the study supplied to NSW NPWS was: Clarke PJ, Copeland LM, Noble NE, Bale CL, Williams JB (2000) 'The vegetation and plant species of New England National Park.'
