This data set explores the impacts of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) on vertebrate physiology. Specifically, taking a meta-analytical approach, we investigated how UVR impacts aspects of vertebrate physiology (cellular processes to whole animal performance) across major taxa (reptiles, birds, amphibians, fishes), life stages (embryo to adult), and habitats (tropical to temperate latitudes). The dataset contains all data used to conduct our meta-analysis, including experimental conditions (e.g., UVR levels of control and treatment conditions, duration of experiment etc), animal morphometrics (e.g., length, mass), and effect size for each physiological metric (control and treatment) with standard deviation and sample size.Issued: 2023
