Full description
This is a collection of anonymised interviews with staff at the Faculty of Business and Economics at Macquarie University, investigating the reasons behind lack of traction in relation to Faculty staff following the aims and principles for Sustainability set out by the University's Sustainability Office. A previous survey had identified a discrepancy between what staff perceived as being important in relation to Sustainability, and their actual behaviour at the University. This survey followed up that result, using open-ended questions to investigate the reasons driving the discrepancy. The interviews included a series of open-ended questions around the respondent's understanding of sustainability policy at Macquarie University, the reasons behind adopting these policies and ideas about structures and initiatives that would implement sustainability effectively at the University. The interviews were completed in 2012.
The collection contains five anonymised interviews in the form of Word documents. Interviews were conducted one on one with audio recording which was then transcribed verbatim by a commercial transcription service.
The survey was undertaken as part of an Honours student project by Fengfei (Andy) Wang, investigating staff barriers to implementing sustainability at a large university. The research was supervised by Faculty of Business and Economics academic staff Sue Wright and Maria Dyball.
Data time period: 2010 to 30 06 2012
