Full description

This dataset contains the Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS 07/2004. The voyage took place off the west coast of Tasmania in July and August 2004. This dataset has been processed and archived by the CSIRO Marine Research Climate Variability and Change Group in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset may be contained in the voyage report for this voyage. XBT data typically comprises temperature and depth readings relayed to the surface at intervals of 0.1 seconds as the probe passes through the top few hundred metres of the ocean.
