The Smythesdale Cemetery Trust was established in 1860 (Victoria Government Gazette No. 69, June 1st 1860).The Trust manages the Smythesdale Cemetery. The cemetery was established by 1859, then known as the General Cemetery or Smythesdale General Cemetery. By 1878, the cemetery was officially known as the Smythesdale Public Cemetery.
The cemetery is located at 1920 Glenelg Highway, Scarsdale, Victoria.
