The SPATIAL Project has utilised The Visible Human female data set, Courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, to reconstruct cross-sectional planes of an elderly female human body.

The Scout provides access to digital cadaveric cross-sections of the whole body. File types include jpeg, pdf, video and DICOM files. Placing DICOM files in PACS software provides opportunity for real-time cadaveric multi-planar interactive exploration of a human body and opens the door to virtual reality (VR) applications. The regions of the Head, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, Hip and Lower Limb are also available to provide higher resolution images that reflect radiologic collimation.
