Brief description
This Web Map Service displays the spatial extents of scanned images of all 1:250 000 scale geological maps of Australia. The service contains information on the edition, publication date, and map publisher, and has links to map images available as 125 DPI and 250 DPI resolution JPG files.Lineage
Statement: Paper copies of current versions of 250K scale geological maps are scanned and stored as JPG image files. The outlines of the spatial extents of these maps, and metadata about the publication of the maps, are delivered by this index web service. Each of the map index polygons provides hyperlinks to the scanned map images which are available for download from Geoscience Australia.
