This paper-based collection, dating from 1916 to 1977, consists of records relating to Sir Arthur Barton Pilgrim Amies, Professor of Dental Science. The collection includes: medical textbooks used by Amies in his studies, 1920-1929; student notes from Amies studies, 1924-1927; lecture notes and other teaching materials from Professor Amies' teaching activities; files of personal correspondence, c1918-1977; subject correspondence, 1922-1968; correspondence files relating to the organisation of the International Academy of Oral Pathology 3rd International Meeting, Melbourne, 1-4 September 1965, 1963-1966; newspaper cuttings covering a range of dental subjects, 1933-1967; publications collected by Amies covering a range of dental subjects, 1909-1950; materials relating to World War I facial injuries, including medical case histories, photographs and x-rays, 1916-c1919; papers, talks and lectures given by Amies, 1936-1967; items relating to the opening of the 'New' Dental Hospital, 23 May 1963; personal audio visual material; and photographs, 1918-1964. 17 archive boxes.Data time period: 1916 to 1977
