Full description
This paper-based collection, dating from 1934 to 2002, relates to trade union official Jack Hutson. Most items in the collection are research files created and arranged by topic, used by Hutson as working files of research for his writing, or as training resources, but also including files on his cultural and other personal interests. Many of these files include handwritten notes by Hutson, and drafts of chapters of his publications. They contain cuttings, leaflets and printed material.(Series 1 Research Files). This series also includes files reflecting Hutson's more personal interests in art, cinema, music and travel. Manuscript, drafts, reports and articles by Hutson are interleaved throughout these files; and a sequence of files contains handwritten drafts relating to Hutson's major publications, 'Six Wage Concepts' and 'From Penal Colony to Penal Powers'. The collection contains a small component of biographical items (Series 2: Jack Hutson - Biography), and photographs (Series 3: Photographs). 0.875 linear shelf metres, 5 archive boxesData time period: 1934 to 2002
