This paper-based collection of records, dating from 1901 to 1980, relate to the Insurance Council of Australia, established in 1975 and its predecessor, the Fire Accident and Marine Underwriters Association. The collection includes: Minute Book, No.4 - 20 May 1936 to 1 May 1980; Classification of Towns and Places general file, 1962 to 1963; alphabetical series of town- by-town fire protection assessment files (usually including map(s), data on water supply, fire alarm, tenders etc.) produced by Classification of Towns Sub-Committee of the Association; District envelopes dealing with 'A', 'E' and 'F' Districts. 2.76 linear shelf metres (23 archive boxes)
