Full description
Data description: This dataset was collected by Michael Adamos at Curtin University in 2023, under the supervision of Dr Georgina Sauzier and with specialist input from Prof. Wilhelm van Bronswijk and A/Prof. William Rickard. Pen inks on paper substrates were analysed by Raman spectroscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) over four months. Peaks associated with triarylmethane dyes were monitored to establish degradation patterns, which could be used to establish the relative age of ink entries on handwritten documents for forensic purposes.
