Full description

This publication was circulated weekly to all police stations until 1974, when it began to be circulated twice a month. It contains information about crimes committed, criminals wanted, criminals apprehended, prisoners discharged, persons on good behaviour bonds, missing persons, and police appointments and promotions. The following supplements have also been issued:

Supplement A: Contains information about vacancies, appointments, promotions, administrative arrangements and acts which the police administer. Issued fortnightly from 1932 onwards.

Supplement B: Contains information about known criminals including physical description, list of aliases used, sentences, terms of release and detailed modus operandi with photographs of each criminal. Issued fortnightly from 1930 onwards.

Supplement C: Contains particulars of pickpockets, card sharps and confidence tricksters operating throughout Australia. Photographs are included. Issued fortnightly between 1935 and 1939.

Supplement D: Contains lists of deserters from the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Navy. Issued fortnightly between 1945 and 1960.
