Each year the Audit Office of New South Wales carries out performance audits on a number of New South Wales government agencies and activities. This series consists of the reports made by the Audit Office of New South Wales that result from the performance auditing process. Each report examines and evaluates the performance of a particular New South Wales government agency or an issue or topic pertaining to an activity carried out by one or more New South Wales government agencies. The purpose of the reports is to establish whether government agencies are acting efficiently and effectively and complying with the law. The completed reports are presented to the Chief Executive Officer of the agency being examined, the Minister responsible, the Treasurer and Parliament. Each report includes a response from the agency concerned to the issues raised in the report.
