This collection contains phenological trait data for the OzOat diversity panel generated under controlled environment and field conditions to characterise genetic variation in oat development. Controlled environment experiments were conducted at the University of Adelaide under defined photoperiod and vernalisation treatments, including long-day, long-day with vernalisation, and short-day conditions, and evaluated the complete OzOat panel. Field phenology data were conducted at NSW Dept of Primary Industries at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia (147.3°E, 35.1°S; elevation ~210 m) during the 2021 and 2022 growing seasons. In 2021, 80 genotypes were sown at two sowing dates, and in 2022, 60 genotypes were sown at three sowing dates, capturing environmental variation relevant to Australian oat production. The data were generated as part of the GRDC-funded project Optimising genetic control of oat phenology for Australia (CSP2007-002RTX) and were integrated with genomic and pedigree information to identify loci associated with vernalisation response, photoperiod sensitivity, and flowering time.Notes
