Brief description

It is a requirement for all selection panels in DEECD to include a merit-

trained employee as a member of any selection panel. To facilitate this requirement,

the Merit Protection Boards provide training in the principles of merit and equity

for principals, teachers, education support class employees and members of the

public service.

These programs are conducted statewide and are supported by DEECD

through the provision of senior personnel to deliver those sections of the training that

focus on human resource policies.
