Full description
This series consists of plans drawn up by the Department of Public Works and the New South Wales Government Railways detailing the approaches to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, track layout and line locations, details of the underground city railway and some stations such as Circular Quay and Central Railway Station. These plans were transferred to the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Board at an unknown time and were renumbered into an ‘S’ and a ‘W’ sequence. Some of these plans have been annotated by the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Board to show such things as sewers, drains, down and up lines.
Most of the plans in this series were part of the original sets 102.C; 103.C; 104.C; 105.C and 107.C
Relationship to other series
The plans of the Sydney Harbour Bridge appear to have been dispersed into various series possibly determined by work requirements or reference needs. Other plans in the set 103.C. have survived in series NRS 12683 that also contains several plans of the set 106.C.
