The Volunteer Force Regulation Act of 1867 (31 Vic. No.5) sections 44 and 45 provided for free grants of land to those volunteers who provided a certificate showing five years' efficient service from the officer commanding the Volunteer Force.

This volume records the following information: number and date of application; name of applicant; area applied for; description of land; and, number of volunteer land certificate.
