These registers contain a summary record of all approved Annual Leases in the Land District of Moree, kept by the Moree Lands Office.Once an application for an Annual Lease had been approved and the notice published in the NSW Government Gazette, the Crown Land Agent would record the Lease information in these registers. Each entry was arranged according to the Annual Lease (AL) number published in the Gazette. The registers were then used to record all payments of rent.
These registers record information such as the name and address of leasee or transferee, date of transfer and date of letter intimating registration at Lands Department, date of commencement of Lease, date of Gazette, Parish, County, date of forfeiture, annual rent, date and amount of payments made, fines on late payments, and any refunds authorised.
