Full description

This series consists of correspondence regarding the granting of snow leases and permissive occupancy of snow lands in New South Wales, c.1914-44.

Most of this correspondence is between the District Surveyor, Land Board Office, Goulburn, the various branches of the Lands Department (Miscellaneous Parks and Reserves; Lease; Occupation; Closer Settlement), and individual applicants, and includes Gazette notices, schedules for grantings, newspaper clippings, departmental circulars and instructions, record of applications, refusals, deposits, refunds, information for unsuccessful applicants etc.

There is also correspondence with other departments, Railways and Soil Conservation for example. Included within several files are maps and diagrams of the areas being disposed of.
