(1) The form records for each transfer (by sale, mortgage or release): surname and first names of transferor and transferee, residence, occupation or designation of each, Settlement Purchase number (or Settlement Purchase Lease number or Soldiers' Group Purchase number), Farm number, acreage, Parish, and County, Lands Office, Name of Estate of Settlement Purchase area, date of transfer, witness, receipt of payment by the Land Agent and receipt into the Office of the Registrar-General at Sydney with reference to the Book and number in the General Register of Deeds. Some files also include declarations, including those under the National Security (Land Transfer) Regulations, related forms and correspondence.These files appear to have been created from April 1922 to 1951 and are arranged numerically. They include File nos.1/2-11759/25 with each file at the same first number relating to the same Settlement Purchase. (For example, Files 140/5-140/108 all relate to Settlement Purchase No.1920/1 in the Land District of Boorowa). No other order by area or by persons is evident. These files appear to relate to Settlement Purchase numbers issued from at least 1907 to 1944.Endnote1. These transfer records appear to include land originally purchased under the Closer Settlement Acts of 1901 (Act No.7, 1902) and 1904 (Act No.37, 1904), the Closer Settlement (Amendment) Acts of 1906 (Act No.44, 1906) and 1907 (Act No.12, 1907), the Closer Settlement Promotion Act 1910 (Act No.7, 1910), the Returned Soldiers Settlement Act 1916 (Act No.21, 1916) and the Crown Lands Consolidation Act 1913 (Act No.7, 1913).
