This index is alphabetical by either names of offices, branches or surnames. Communications from banks are entered under the letter B and from Companies and Conditional Purchase Inspectors under the letters C and I respectively, while correspondence from the Under Secretary for Lands and the Under Secretary for Finance and Trade are listed under the letters U and T. A full list of peculiar entries is given at the front of the volume. The name of the person or body from whom the correspondence is received is given as well as the subject and the registration number of the letter.
