This series comprises indexes and registers documenting correspondence received by the Department of Lands and Public Works (1856 - 1859) and the NSW Department of Lands.
The indexes are arranged alphabetically, and provide the registered letter number, and the name of the correspondent or subject.
The corresponding registers are arranged numerically by registered letter number and provide a more detailed description of the letters received. Each entry typically includes the registration number, name of correspondent or subject, previous registered correspondence and any forwarding actions of the correspondence.
