These are copies of correspondence between Mr Justice Wise and the Colonial Secretary's Office (reports on prisoners sentenced and petitions for mitigation of sentences, and regarding the consignment of prisoners to Cockatoo Island), and with Stephen, C.J. concerning the appointment of the latter to the committee to investigate the affairs of Australian Mutual Provident Society. The volume also includes correspondence between Hargrave, J. and the Chief Justice concerning the former's application for the position of primary judge in Equity.
