These volumes are of record of persons to whom pensions were granted under the provisions of the Civil Service Act of 1884. Each page shows name of officer, position, date of retirement, length of service, salary details, age at retirement, computations of the pension, details of the executive minute, and remarks. The relevant section of the Act under which the pension was granted is also usually noted.
