Full description

The 1860 volume (4/4677) seems to have been compiled for the Committee set up in 1860, which comprised the Mayor, the Inspector General of Police, and the Agent for Immigration.

This volume shows for each unemployed person date of interview, name, age, calling, marital status, residence, size of family (if any), how long unemployed, and name of ship and date of arrival. It also shows whether the person finally found work.

The 1884 volume (4/4687), shows for each applicant for work, date of application, name, age, calling, address, marital status, ship of arrival and result of application
