These are indexes to the Admission registers of the Newcastle Mental Hospital for long term patients. State Records does not currently hold the registers for the period covered by these indexes. 

Male and female patients are recorded in separate lists in 34/2642 and after 1924 separate volumes record male and female patients. 

34/2642 records registration number, patient name, dates of admission and discharge, medical case book number and folio, and remarks. 34/2643-44 record patient's name, registration number, date of discharge/death and how disposed of.
