Full description

This is a daily record of admissions, discharges and staff disposition at the Reception House. Organized on the basis of a month to an opening the record shows for each day of the month the number of patients in the Reception House, the numbers of admissions, discharges, deaths, escapes and recaptures, the destination of those discharged (to mental hospital, recovered, to care of friend), the number of nurses and attendants, remarks concerning accidents, etc. and gives the surnames of patients admitted or discharged.

Included are the Daily statement books for the Mental Ward which was opened in May 1908 and closed on 30 April 1922. These are in the same format as those for the Reception House.

From March 1948 the mental hospital to which patients were discharged is shown and names are no longer recorded.
