Full description

These letters are mainly to the Secretary of Government Asylums for the Infirm and Destitute, but there are also some letters to individuals and offices. In many cases copies of inwards correspondence are included. Memoranda are dated but not numbered and are very similar in content to the letters but less formal. Memoranda received or forwarded are also copied in some cases. Later correspondence outwards is mainly to individuals, nearly all memoranda to Head Office being returns (of expenditure, meals, supplies, etc.) or matters initiated by the institution.
