Full description

This series, arranged in alphabetical order according to the name of the town or district, consists of inspection reports of theatres and public halls in these areas for the purpose of assessing fire precautions as required under the Theatres and Public Halls Act, 1908. These reports were made annually and sent to the Chief Secretary's Department and concerned both new and established premises seeking licensing/re-licensing under the Act. Each file contains a standard "Theatre Inspection Report" form which provides some information on the theatre or public hall, such as its condition, location, and fire equipment available.
