For each officer or employee, these volumes record name, office (position held), and salary details. Later registers also list date of commencement and whether the employee was married.

Temporary staff are listed, including those employed during outbreaks of disease, such as the smallpox outbreak in 1913-14 and the influenza epidemic in 1914-16.

The volumes are arranged by branch or institution.
