Full description

This series consists of files covering a wide variety of subjects. Each file is registered under the Brigade's complex file registration system which comprises a number of categories and sub-categories generally known as "Fire Numbers". New Fire Numbers are incorporated into the system as the need arises. Each Fire Number contains all correspondence and papers relating to a particular subject or area and may comprise a number of files or parts.

Prior to their transfer as State archives, many of these files were re-registered into the agency's current records management system and, consequently, the titles of these files reflect the classification scheme imposed by that system.

The files may contain the following information: routine matters; policy and procedural matters; major administrative and functional arrangements, and major equipment matters. Some files may contain sensitive or distressing material.
