They were assigned numbers by the department, and these have been noted on the Shelf List in the column marked Drawing No. The numbers are arranged in the following order of series: A, B, C, AR, BR, CR, BT, CT, BO, F, K, KT, RA, SK, SKA, SKB, SKC, T, P, W, X, Y, Z, drawings from The English Electric Co Ltd, drawings from Thomas Ash and Co Ltd, drawings from R.A. Dyson & Co Ltd, and miscellaneous numbers. A number of the plans had attachments which have mostly been removed and placed at SR Plan Nos. 62514-62520c. A full listing of these plans is available. The series consists largely of engineering drawings which are most detailed drawings of tramcar construction and equipment, and, to a lesser extent, trolley buses. In addition, there are plans of tramtrack layout and overhead fixtures; details of associated vehicles such as breakdown trucks, water sprinklers etc.; and diagrams of workshop equipment and layout.

These tramway records were transferred from the Randwick Tramway Workshops.
