Full description

This series consists of returns showing the age and grade distribution of pupils at government special schools. The following categories of schools are represented: Correspondence School; School of the Air; island schools (ie. Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands); schools for emotionally disturbed children; hospital schools; schools for the mildly intellectually handicapped, the moderately intellectually handicapped and the physically handicapped; schools within Department of Youth and Community Services institutions. For 1973-76 and 1986 there are also returns for nursery or pre-schools. The 1986 returns include separate bundles for Aboriginal and non-English speaking background pupils in special and pre-schools.
