The correspondence deals with administrative and policy matters which concerned the Directors-General of Education, Mr Price and Mr Buggie. The subjects covered by the correspondence include: the special inspection of schools; the outlines of curriculums for school courses; comparative tables concerning the distribution of students' IQ's throughout certain districts; surveys of secondary education; the appointment of school principals and inspectors; criteria for entrance to Teachers' Training Colleges and the awarding of University scholarships for four year teacher trainees. The remaining correspondence deals with routine administrative matters related to the running of the Department.
