Full description

This series contains reports on public institutions and many other semi-private bodies, such as Schools of Arts. The reports are concerned with the auditing of institutional accounts, the efficacy and desirability of grants of public monies provided in aid of these institutions, and the manner of their expenditure. Where the subject cited is a town, the report generally covers all government agencies located there.
The records are arranged alphabetically by inspector's name and, within each inspector's grouping, numerically. This series is continued by NRS 381, Main account files, 1930–1984.
