Full description

These are copies of letters sent to offices, institutions and individuals between 11 October 1843, when the first letter (numbered 43/1) was addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and 9 May 1846, when the last (unnumbered) was sent to that office. The last-mentioned letter and the one preceding it (20 April 1846, unnumbered to the Colonial Secretary) are press copies and were contained loosely in the volume at the end of the hand copied letters. They have been laminated and placed in an envelope inside the front cover of the volume. There is an index at the front of the volume.
