Full description

The records in this series comprise copies of agreements made between aborigines and the Aborigines Welfare Board for tenancies of land and/or houses. The agreements relate to the following Aboriginal Stations and Reserves: Bellbrook, Green Hills (Kempsey), Wallaga Lake, Wellington and Yass.

The agreements are set out on the form A.W.D. 87 prepared by the Crown Solicitor and details include the amount of rent to be paid by the tenant and a list of conditions the tenant agrees to abide by. The agreement may also include the number of the house being rented and the number of bedrooms, the date the agreement was signed, tenant’s signature, and the signature of two members of the Aborigines Welfare Board.
