These papers were created while Hal Missingham was Director of the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The correspondence covers 1952-71 and deals with letters to and from artists and other galleries; invitations to various functions; contributions to journals and books; Britannia Art Awards; overseas visit September-October 1965; the round-Australia trip 28 April-30 September 1966; the design of the decimal currency notes and coins in his capacity as a member of the Currency Note Design Group and the Advisory Panel on Coin Design. Also transferred were notes on various artists and notes prepared for lectures, a "Daily Biography 1906-May 1977" and desk calendars 1961-71.
