Full description

This series contains two volumes of investigative reports on ore dressing and metallurgical testing of mining samples from different localities in NSW. The reports recorded the ore samples' origin, weight, and characteristics. Also included are the results of experimental tests consisting of crushing, amalgamation, gravity concentration, cyanidation, and recommendations on how to treat the ore. The front cover of both volumes are fixed with labels from the Mining and geological museum The reports from 1940-1947 contain references to papers, which are prefixed by year. Later typed reports reflect that they were created by the government geologist and co-authored by the curator of the Mining and Geological Museum.
