Full description
This series comprises handwritten volumes which detail the routine running of 031 Busby Fire Station recording fires and fire attendance, training exercises/drills, equipment inspections, turnouts, station parades, and special events.Entries record the time of each occurrence, or the time of notification for each incident, together with a brief description of the event. The names of responding personnel are also recorded. Information is entered in columnar format, including headings for Hours, Minutes and Occurrences.
From July 1993, when Fire Record Books ceased to be maintained, Occurrence Books became the principal record of daily activity at country fire stations. An electronic Occurrence Book system was progressively introduced from July 2012, commencing with metropolitan fire stations and concluding in October 2012.
The rollout to regional stations began in February 2013 and was completed in September 2013. Following the implementation of the electronic system, physical Occurrence Books were no longer created. (1)
