This series contains various records produced by and pertaining to the management and administration of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council and their core functions and responsibilities. Records detail information regarding strategic management, legal matters and government relations.

The files refer to the NSW Aboriginal Land Council and various Regional Aboriginal Land Councils (RALC) and Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALC).

Many items relate to court proceedings in the Land and Environment Court (LEC), Court of Appeal (CA), Federal Court of Australia and High Court of Australia. These may include the Court's case numbering with its pre-nominal letters, such as ALC for Aboriginal Land Claim or NSD for Native Title cases in the Federal Court.

While the majority of files relate to land matters there are a few files relating to cultural heritage information pertaining to Aboriginal relics, sites and places of significance, or secret and sacred traditions.
